The school was founded in 1975 by Captain Harry Wright, who had settled in Hong Kong the year before. He was named Hong Kong Swimming Coach of the Year in 1988 and 1993 and coached the Hong Kong national team. The school now has more than 2,000 active swimmers.
It teaches at the South China Athletic Association in Causeway Bay, Kellett School in Kowloon Bay, Club Siena in Discovery Bay and the Aberdeen Marina Club, with its office in Kennedy Town.
